Prince Harry was reportedly not invited to cousin Peter Phillips and Harriet Sperling's wedding due to years of limited contact and concerns that royal family tensions could distract attention from the couple's special day.

According to royal expert Emily Nash, Prince Harry was reportedly not invited to his cousin Peter Phillips' upcoming wedding to Harriet Sperling.

Before recording a podcast, Nash told Page Six that the decision was due to Harry's current relationship with the Royal Family. The expert said that Phillips and Harry haven't spoken regularly for years, which has naturally caused them to grow apart.

The wedding will take place on June 6. Many important members of the Royal Family, like Prince William and Princess Catherine, are expected to come. King Charles III will likely attend too, though his exact role hasn't been officially announced yet.

Nash said that Phillips has stayed very close to William for a long time and is seen as a trusted family friend. She also mentioned that during Prince Philip's funeral in 2021, Phillips walked between the two brothers while they were having disagreements.

The reported guest list comes after years of tension between Prince Harry and the Royal Family, following his book Spare and the Sussexes' Netflix documentary.

Nash said that inviting Harry might have distracted people from the wedding and made them focus on family arguments instead. The commentator thought the decision helps keep the focus on Phillips and Sperling rather than royal drama.

Many members of the Royal Family are expected to attend the wedding, making it one of the most watched private royal events this year.
