Hannah Murray Opens Up About Mental Health Struggles and Wellness Cult Experience

Hannah Murray shared that she had a mental health crisis after joining a wellness cult, admitting she made very bad decisions during a very difficult time in her life.

The former Game of Thrones actress shared her story while talking about her new book, The Make-Believe. In it, she describes her struggles with mental health and her spiritual journey.

Murray said she joined the group in 2017 after meeting an 'energy healer' through a trainer while working in Detroit. Even though she thought she was too smart to join such a group, the actress admitted she got very involved and spent thousands of dollars looking for 'wisdom and feeling special.'

The actress said the group had a strong sexual energy, even though no one touched each other. She also remembered being attracted to the cult leader's charm and confidence.

Murray later had a mental breakdown and went to a hospital, where doctors said she had bipolar disorder. Looking back, she noted that people often fail to see how easily vulnerable people can be tricked by dishonest wellness groups.

Murray is no longer an actress. She said she stays away from things like meditation, crystals, and yoga because they remind her too much of her past.

The actress is most famous for her roles as Cassie Ainsworth in Skins and Gilly in Game of Thrones.
