Sahar Hashmi calls out unfair treatment over late payments in showbiz.

An actor explains how creators get blamed when they miss deadlines, but when payments are late, it’s blamed on the accounting department.

Sahar Hashmi speaks out against unfair treatment and late payments in the showbiz industry.

Actor Sahar Hashmi has pointed out that payments in the entertainment industry can be late, and she thinks it's unfair how professionalism is judged differently for artists and production teams.

She posted on Instagram Stories a message comparing two situations: if an artist is late by one day, it's called unprofessional, but if payment is 30 days late, it's often excused as a delay in processing by the accounts team.

The post said, "If work is delayed by one day, it is unprofessional. If payment is delayed by 30 days, then there is a delay because of account processing." It added that professionalism should be fair on both sides.

She didn't name any specific person or company in her post.

The message called for honesty and fairness from both sides of a work relationship. Artists are expected to finish their work on time and keep their promises, but getting paid on time is also a key part of the deal between actors and production teams.

Late payment has been a common problem for actors and other workers in the entertainment field, where paying on time is important for building trust between artists and those who hire them.

Hashmi is not the only person in Pakistan's entertainment industry to speak out about this issue. Filmmaker Mehreen Jabbar and actors Romaisa Khan, Ahmed Ali Butt, Nadia Afgan, Mohammed Ahmed, and Haroon Shahid, among others, have also talked about their worries over late payments.

Hashmi first acted in the TV drama Zulm, and then appeared in shows like Ishq Hua, Shadi Card, and Mann Mast Malang. She became more well-known for her role as Bano in Zanjeerain. She has kept growing her career with TV dramas, including Shaidai.
