Nadia Afgan compares her family life to Dar-e-Nijaat
Says her relationship with in-laws offers real-life contrast to the emotional turmoil in Dar-e-Nijaat
Pakistani actor Nadia Afgan recently gave fans a look into her own family life. She shared a touching story about how kind her husband Jodi's family has been to her—something that reminded her of the character Zaryab from the drama series Dar-e-Nijaat.
In a social media post, Nadia talked about how getting married changed what she expected from in-laws, especially the close bond she now has with her mother-in-law. Her words were a fresh reminder that, even though TV shows and real life often show difficult family situations, loving and supportive families really do exist.
"Story time: People like Abu Bakar and his mother really exist," Afgan wrote, referring to the caring family relationship shown in Dar-e-Nijaat.
She went on to describe her own experience after marrying Jodi, saying that his family's kindness came as a big surprise.
"When Jodi and I got married, I was just as amazed as Zaryaab. His parents and his family were, and still are, the nicest, most honest, and kindest people in the world."
Nadia also spoke warmly about her mother-in-law, explaining that their relationship has grown into something much deeper than the usual ties between a woman and her husband's family.
"I have come to love my mother-in-law like my own mother; she loves me so much," she said.
The actor even talked about asking her husband a question that showed how surprised she was by this kindness: "Are you guys really that nice? And you don’t argue with each other? Are you aliens?"
Her funny comment—basically asking if his family was truly that kind and why they never fought—added a personal, easy-to-relate-to touch to her story.
Afgan ended her message with a thought that matched the show’s main ideas: "So, I can relate to Zaryaab, and believe me, good people do exist."
Nadia’s comments make an interesting link to Dar-e-Nijaat, a Pakistani TV drama about love, family ties, trust, right versus wrong, and how choices affect people’s lives.
The story follows Zaryab, played by Durefishan Saleem, whose life turns painful when her long-term relationship with her childhood love, Zamil, ends in betrayal. Zamil, played by Nameer Khan, moves on without giving Zaryab the honesty or respect she expected from someone she had trusted for years.
In contrast, Abu Bakar, played by Sheheryar Munawar, shows a different type of man—one whose kindness and family loyalty become more important as Zaryab tries to deal with her heartbreak.
The drama’s look at Abu Bakar and his mother, Khushbakht, sets up Nadia’s comparison. Their bond shows that a family can be built on love, loyalty, and mutual respect, rather than on fighting and negativity.
One of the most touching parts of Nadia's post is the love she shows for her mother-in-law. In a society where stories about fights between daughters-in-law and their husband's families are common in shows, her story gives a different view.
TV dramas often pull in viewers with misunderstandings, family fights, controlling relatives, and hard marriages. While these problems can show real social issues, they don't apply to every home.
Afgan's story shows that family ties can also bring comfort, acceptance, and a sense of belonging. The actress herself married Jawad Samar Khan, also known as Jodi Pai, in June 2008. Recently, she acted in the dramas Pas E Dewaar and Hey Fam. She is also expected to take a side role in Dar-e-Nijaat in the upcoming episodes.
