Hiba Bukhari asks fans to stay respectful during online arguments.
The actor stated that the remarks were upsetting and clarified that her earlier post was meant to understand the situation, not to cause more hostility.
Pakistani actor Hiba Bukhari has asked her fans to be respectful to others after she saw some comments online that she called "really disrespectful."
In an Instagram Story, Bukhari said that her earlier post was meant to understand the situation, not to make her followers act mean or hostile.
"Okay. So I am posting this after reading comments and some really disrespectful things which I don't appreciate in any way," Bukhari wrote.
The actor said she loves her fans, but she does not want their support to come from putting others down, especially her fellow actors.
"I love my fans and I know for a fact my fandom can not disrespect anyone," she said. "I respect my co actors and that is exactly what I expect from you all," she added.
Bukhari also explained why she had spoken earlier, saying she was just trying to understand what was going on, not to stir up arguments. "My post was just to ask what is happening," she wrote.
Ending her message, the actor asked her followers to be kind to one another, and said she was sad to see such mean comments. "I ask you all to please respect each other! And it truly hurts to see such things. Lots of love from your Hiba Bukhari," she said.
Bukhari's message shows how hard it can be for public figures when their fans move from watching them on TV to arguing online. While passionate fans can be great at supporting actors and their work, fights between fans can also turn into personal attacks and nastiness.
Her comments come as people still show a lot of interest in her TV shows and the people she acts with.
She starred opposite Danish Taimoor in Humrahi, which caused a lot of online talk after it came out.
She is also going to appear in Rutba, an upcoming drama with Mehwish Hayat and Haseeb Hassan.
