Mahira Khan writes a touching note to the director of 'Mitti De Baway' before the premiere.

Actor thanks Wajahat Hussain, director calls their work together 'a special journey I'll always remember'

Actor Mahira Khan wrote a heartfelt message to director Wajahat Hussain before the premiere of Mitti De Baway, thanking him for his work on the drama and for helping shape her character, Billo.

The show, written by Faiza Iftikhar and directed by Hussain, marks the first time Mahira and Wahaj Ali appear together on screen.

Sharing a behind-the-scenes photo from the set with Hussain and Ali, Mahira spoke directly to her director, writing, "You believed in Billo and understood her better than I ever could." She ended with a personal note, saying, "Love alwayssss, your Billo."

The director shared Mahira's note again on his own Instagram story, saying it had "truly touched" his heart. Hussain also called working together "a memorable journey I'll always treasure."

Actor Yumna Zaidi wished the Mitti De Baway team good luck, posting the drama's first poster and writing that "beautiful things come from hard work and staying strong."

"Mitti De Baway" takes place in rural Punjab in 1999. It follows Billo and Baala through a love story that ends in separation: Baala is jailed on an unknown charge, while Billo, by the time the story picks up again in 2002, has become a pir, or spiritual guide, with her own followers.

The first trailer got lots of praise from the industry. Kinza Hashmi said "everything looks amazing," and Bilal Abbas called it one of "the best trailers I have seen in a long time." Other stars like Maya Ali, Iqra Aziz, Hina Afridi, Yasir Hussain, and Shuja Asad also shared their excitement for the drama.

A later teaser added more layers to Billo and Baala's story, hinting at past marriages and hidden secrets. It also showed a tougher, prison-hardened Baala coming back into a life Billo had already moved past—making viewers wonder if they will ever find their way back to each other.

Both Mahira and Wahaj are already big names in Pakistan's entertainment world, so their team-up in "Mitti De Baway" is one of the most eagerly awaited parts of the project.
