Hina Parvez Butt uses 'Dar-e-Nijaat' to share a message about marriage.
A Punjab lawmaker says that when there are misunderstandings, it is important to communicate, be honest, show respect, and build trust.
Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) politician Hina Parvez Butt has used the drama Dar-e-Nijaat to talk about marriage, telling couples to talk openly, not make choices when they are angry, and not let past relationships or mistakes ruin their present.
The Member of the Provincial Assembly (MPA) posted a video on Instagram where she discussed how past relationship experiences can affect future ones, especially when they come up during a marriage.
“Your past relationships and mistakes can affect you later in life for future relationships. When you are in a tough situation like this, it’s better not to act out of anger,” she said, asking people to handle difficult times with patience instead of anger.
Butt stressed that it's very important for husbands and wives to talk to each other when they don't understand something.
"A husband and wife should openly discuss their misunderstandings and work together to fix the issue," she said. She also added that people shouldn't let their past get in the way of a new relationship.
"Focus on the present moment. A strong marriage is based on respect and trust," Butt said. "Your past doesn't have to control you. You can make your today better."
In the text that went with the video, Butt explained more about how private things from a person's past can affect a marriage if they are found out.
"After getting married, there might be things from before, like an old relationship or something personal you want to keep to yourself. But if such a secret becomes known, it can affect your relationship," she wrote.
She again warned against making choices when angry and encouraged couples to handle tough surprises through honest talking.
"In these cases, deciding things while angry is not the answer. Husbands and wives should speak openly with each other. Instead of hiding things or telling lies, try to deal with the issue as a team. If there's a misunderstanding, fix it by talking honestly."
Butt's latest remarks arrive as Dar-e-Nijaat examines the problems that can occur when past experiences meet a current relationship. Her main point is about talking openly, being truthful, showing respect, and building trust as couples work through these issues.
