Farhat Ishtiaq to bring 'Zanjeerain' to audio with a new series
The writer is bringing back the hit drama with an audio series starting on her YouTube channel in October.
Farhat Ishtiaq is taking Zanjeerain beyond TV and into the world of audio storytelling, with an audio version of the drama set to launch on her official platforms in October.
The famous writer announced the upcoming series on Instagram after the TV drama ended, guiding viewers to the audio version on her official YouTube channel.
The announcement said, "We are very happy to announce that we will start the audio series of the hit drama Zanjeerain on Farhat Ishtiaq's official YouTube channel from October. We hope you will enjoy this audio series just as much."
Zanjeerain first aired in April, with Sajal Aly, Ameer Gilani, Danyal Zafar, Sahar Hashmi, and Ahsan Khan as the main cast. Written by Ishtiaq, the drama was set against a mountain backdrop and mixed romance, family conflict, tradition, power, and long-standing feuds.
At its heart was Rabiya, played by Sajal Aly, whose life became connected to Muddasir and Sar Buland as the story looked at questions of family honor, loyalty, and the effects of choices made by earlier generations.
The drama's large cast of characters and linked relationships placed individual choices within a bigger web of family history and social expectations, giving the story a narrative that went well beyond its central romance.
Now that the TV series is finished, the audio version gives audiences another way to enjoy the story. Without seeing the places, costumes, or acting, the audio format focuses more on the dialogue, narration, character development, and Ishtiaq's writing itself.
Fans were excited about the announcement, and many went to the comments to praise the writer and share their excitement about the new format. One user wrote, "Please write part two," while another called the drama "Unforgettable."
For those who know Ishtiaq's work, moving into audio storytelling isn't completely new. Her official YouTube channel has featured audio versions of stories before, such as Meem Se Mohabbat, which was released as part of the "Awaz Kahani Series."
The upcoming Zanjeerain audio series continues Ishtiaq's exploration of a format that lets her stories be experienced with more focus on the written narrative and the dialogues between her characters.
Instead of just redoing the television drama, this audio version gives Zanjeerain a new life—this time through voices, conversation, and storytelling rather than the screen.
