Saima Qureshi tells mothers-in-law to stop treating their daughters-in-law badly.

Actor says women should learn from their own traumas, and men should support their wives during domestic fights.

Saima Qureshi urges mothers-in-law to treat daughters-in-law with kindness

Actor Saima Qureshi said that mothers-in-law should learn from their own past pain and build better relationships with their daughters-in-law.

On a private TV morning show, Saima said, "I've seen mothers-in-law who went through the worst themselves, but they still treat their daughters-in-law the same way. Why? If that happened to her, she should do the opposite and treat her daughter-in-law differently.

I think it's really bad how mothers-in-law treat their daughters-in-law badly." She also said that husbands have a big role in making sure their wives are treated with respect. "Men also get stuck choosing sides between their mother and wife, which shouldn't happen. When a couple gets married, their relationship should be the top priority," she said.

Saima also said men don't need to depend only on their mothers to understand what their wives go through. Instead, they can learn about women's behavior changes and mood swings, especially during pregnancy. She said, 'You have ChatGPT and YouTube. Husbands should care for their wives and understand that they might change or have mood swings, especially when pregnant.'

She added, 'Men are not children who need their parents to teach them such things.'

Talking about herself, Saima said she was lucky to have a great mother-in-law and never had to face hard emotional times alone. She said, 'My mother-in-law was such a good person that I can't even describe it.'

Saima said that what she went through with her own mother-in-law made her learn that parents should be completely open about who they really are before bringing a new wife into the family. "My pregnancy was really smooth, but in general, I think when you marry off your kids, you should start by being your true selves right away," the actress said.

"If men want the girl to respect their parents, they should also respect her parents equally," she added.

Saima also said it's embarrassing that we even need to talk about this, because being kind and respectful to family members should be basic manners. "We're here talking about this when it's just basic human stuff. You need to get along well and treat your daughters-in-law like your own daughters, since you were a daughter too," she stated.

She also said that many problems between mothers-in-law and daughters-in-law could be solved if husbands support their wives. Saima said, 'The real issue in all these talks is the husband, because if he doesn't stand up for you, nothing will improve.'

Saima got married young and later got divorced. She raised three sons alone while still working in show business. Her recent projects include Ghulam Badshah Sundri and Duniyapur.
