'Dear cockroaches' Bollywood stars greet Gen Z after education minister leaves
Alia Bhatt, Sara Ali Khan, and Ibrahim Ali Khan shared posts supporting young protesters.
Bollywood stars were happy when Dharmendra Pradhan quit as India's education minister. This happened after many young people protested about problems with exams. It was a big win for the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP), which uses social media to get support.
Pradhan left his job on Saturday after thousands of young protesters came together in New Delhi and other places in India, asking him to go and for big changes in the education system.
Actor Sonakshi Sinha shared a video on Instagram, happy about the progress and thanking the students who were protesting.
She wrote: "Sorry, I meant to say I'm proud of you and THANK YOU. I'll be right back now... the millennial has gone crazy. 25.07.2026. What a day!!!"
Sonakshi was also seen doing sit-ups while holding her ears, which is a traditional way to show apology and regret, as she saluted Generation Z. The text on the video said: "Never again!! Salute...salute! Look at me now, I want to be you, I want to be GEN Z!!!"
Actor Alia Bhatt responded to the resignation on Instagram, saying: 'Gen Z took action! Everything else is now in the past.'
Alia also said in a statement that the students were not just representing themselves, but they were speaking for everyone who supported them and were making a better way for future generations.
Actor Sara Ali Khan shared an Instagram story that said: 'Democracy,' with heart, folded hands, and Indian flag emojis.
Ibrahim Ali Khan, who is Saif Ali Khan's son, also praised the news on Instagram, saying: 'I'm happy people's voices were heard. It's finished, bro.'
Ibrahim wrote the sentence in the same way that Salman Khan had asked Sonam Wangchuk to stop his hunger strike, saying: 'Sonam, it's done, bro.
' In another Instagram story, Ibrahim wrote: 'DEMOCRACY,' then 'GENZ & THE YOUTH OF INDIA.'
Senior actor Shabana Azmi said Pradhan quitting was a big win for students, but the fight is not over and they must keep resisting, Indian media reported.
Actor Prakash Raj congratulated the students and supporters of the CJP protest, writing: 'Good job, my dear cockroaches.'
Talking to Sonam Wangchuk and the people who supported the young students, he said: "You have shown that you can make a government powerless."
Actress Priyanka Chopra shared a post stating that Pradhan quit his job after many weeks of protests led by students about cheating in exams, calling it a big political change.
She also posted that Pradhan quit 'after 30 days of student protests across the country and a hard 26-day hunger strike by Sonam Wangchuk.' She reacted with clapping, crying eyes, sunglasses, and red heart emojis.
Actor Vaani Kapoor showed support for the students on Instagram, saying: 'This moment is for every student who kept trying, kept asking questions, and kept hoping.'
Actor Malaika Arora also noted the moment on Instagram, posting stories that said 'GEN Z' and '25.07.26' with Indian flag and muscle emojis.
Actor Ayesha Kanga shared protest-related posts, including one that said "Dharmendra Pradhan Resigns" and another that said "SONAM ITS DONE BROOOOOOOO."

Actor Tina Datta posted a video from the Kolkata protest and another post about Pradhan's resignation, commenting: 'What a great win.'
These reactions came after the CJP said all its demands were met in another round of talks, and it was ending protests at the Jantar Mantar site in New Delhi.
Ashutosh Ranka, a spokesperson for the CJP, said the protesters wanted Pradhan to quit, pay for those hurt by exam cheats, and drop court cases against those who protested.
Pradhan said that he was sad about what happened in the last 10 days and sent his resignation to the prime minister.
"This is not about my own fame," he said.
"India's young people are the true power of this country. I am determined that we will not let them get stuck in a bad cycle of confusion," Pradhan added.
CJP founder Abhijeet Dipke told the happy crowd: "We have done it."
India's opposition leader Rahul Gandhi said Pradhan's resignation was a 'big step' and asked Prime Minister Narendra Modi to say sorry and respect students and future generations.
Gandhi also said that people who hurt students should be punished.
