Quetta Train Attack: Mahira Khan, Farhan Saeed, and others express sadness for the victims

Pakistan was in grief this weekend after a deadly bomb attack on a train in Quetta killed at least 14 people and injured about 20 others.

Quetta Train Attack: Celebrities Mahira Khan, Farhan Saeed and others express grief over victims


The explosion happened just after 8 a.m. while the train was moving from Quetta Cantonment to the main station. The blast hit at a railway crossing, causing train cars to go off the tracks and damaging nearby cars and houses.

Officials said the victims included three Frontier Constabulary members, plus passengers, walkers, people nearby, and local residents. A family of four, including two children, was also killed.

When news of the tragedy broke, many famous people in Pakistan posted on social media to show they were sad, angry, and standing with the victims and their families.

Mahira Khan was deeply upset by the attack, asking "How much more?" while mourning the recent violence in the province. 

Sarwat Gilani posted broken heart emojis on Instagram, and rapper Talha Anjum spoke out against the attackers and showed support for Pakistan's military.

"We support our soldiers against these terrorists," he wrote, while also praying for those who died. 

Singer and actor Farhan Saeed said he feels deeply for all the victims and their families, adding that those responsible must be punished strictly.

Fashion designer Hassan Sheheryar Yasin also expressed sadness, saying, "Today we are deeply saddened by the many innocent lives lost and the families whose lives have been changed forever."
